Amanda is Headteacher at Bents Green Specialist School in Sheffield.
Bents Green Specialist Secondary School is a maintained school in Sheffield. The community of learning incorporates Bents Green Learning Community at Bents Green Specialist School, a satellite Hub at Westfield Secondary School, Sheaf Specialist Vocational College and other provisions to enable bespoke personalised learning opportunities. The school provides education for young people ages 11-19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Communication and Interaction difficulties.
Amanda is an experienced leader and has worked in mainstream and Specialist environments. She has been a leader of Fusion Teaching School Alliance in Sheffield and has worked in a team to plan and deliver many conferences across the region including the development of the SLE community of middle and senior leaders. Amanda has recently become a National Leader of Education and a Regional Representative for Womened.
Amanda is a Governor and member of Sheffield Inclusion Centre Board and is interested in developing inclusion across the region.
Amanda is currently researching distributed leadership as part of her Doctorate in Education and is interested in women’s leadership journeys and analysing the experiences into poetic modes.
